Accelerated
Degree BSN
The Accelerated Degree BSN is a
variation of the Second Degree BSN.
You generally still get credit for your completed Liberal Arts requirements, but the Accelerated Degree BSN program could potentially allow you to complete your nursing requirements in less time, usually 12 to 20 months, depending on school and program type, among other things.*
Students will likely engage in science and nursing topics like nutrition, nursing care, clinical problem solving, nursing and health care ethics, nursing informatics, and more.
Upon successful completion, graduates could be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN examination, passage of which is required for Registered Nurses. Graduates could potentially qualify for entry-level nursing opportunities and have the option to pursue graduate study in nursing.
Admission to this type of Nursing BSN program tends to be highly competitive.
