Second
Degree BSN
An option for non-nurses who have already earned a bachelor's degree in a non-nursing field, the Second Degree BSN program could allow students to receive credit for academic requirements they've already completed. This way, the student may focus on nursing coursework and could potentially earn their BSN in two academic years, depending on program type and course load.*
Specific content may differ by school, but generally, Second Degree BSN programs focus on topics like health promotion, disease prevention, nutrition, pharmacology, nursing research, and more.
Upon successful completion of the Second Degree BSN program, students should be eligible to apply for their RN license or pursue graduate education.
